About the Teacher
Darius Yang is a graduate of the guitar program at the University of Toronto. He studied with Dr. Jeffrey McFadden and Rob MacDonald at school. He studied music education, guitar pedagogy and history. Darius also studied with Wingo Ng and Bagher Moazen prior to university.
Although Darius is a classical guitarist by training, he his musical styles range from classical, jazz, bluegrass, blues, Bossa Nova and fingerstyle. He also plays various fretted instruments, such as mandolin, banjo, ukulele and bass guitar.
Darius plays a classical guitar made by Jerry Farrell in 2008.
Darius is currently a licensed teacher in Ontario and holds a B.Music and B.Education.
Performances
Though Darius is primarily focused on teaching, he often performs in his community. Most recently. he performed the Concierto de Aranjuez's Second Movement with the Chinese Artist Society of Toronto in August 2018.
